LG Electronics has just released a new age refrigerator that is so advanced, it is expected to take over the kitchen appliance market. The refrigerator connects to home Wi-Fi networks and will be controlled by a smart phone or tablet. Information about what is in the fridge, where in the fridge it is, and when the product expires will be available to consumers at any location that has network coverage. In what could mark the demise of the magnetic pad and pencils that have adorned our refrigerator doors for decades, customers will now be able to see what they need to buy as they smugly sashay through supermarket isles. For the uninspired, an LG supper machine will also suggest healthy recipes based on what foods are available in the fridge. The product will be available at the end of this year in South Korea and North America. It will cost U.S. $3,296 and will account for about 20 to 30 percent of LG’s refrigerator sales. ”By the end of the year, when our full range is introduced, consumers will be able to stay in contact with their appliances at any time, enjoying greater convenience and seeing real-life, real-time improvements in energy consumption and time savings,” Lee Young-Ha, president of the home appliance unit, said in a statement. We love you Lee.
